Why I Get Dressed Once A Week During #stayathome

View Post jump arrow down

I have been working from home since last June, so being home everyday is nothing new here! What is new the fact that everyone is home at the same time, and we are homeschooling as well. My entire schedule and mindset was shook for a week. I was trying to figure how to balance it all, at the same time trying not to freak out about what is going on in the world. Unfortunately the world is going through so much, and at this time we are all dealing with it the best we know how. I wake up every morning and have my devotion time before I start my day, and by continuously building my relationship with God I feel safe and secure. I will not live in fear, but will make sure we are following all of the steps to keep our family safe and healthy.

Last week I decided to pick one day out of the week where I would get dressed. I think it gives me something to look forward to, and at the same time wear the clothes that I have in my closet. Getting dressed changes your mindset for the day, and gives you a sense of accomplishment. I have the same mentality about making my bed in the morning. In the past, I would barely make my bed on the weekends, but since I am home I think it jumpstarts my day with a simple task. Every time I walk in my room a little smirk appears on my face because I accomplished a task. A small task, but hey its a step in the right direction and it makes my room look clean!

This week I am challenging myself to try to get dressed two times out of the week, and of course the other days I will be in my lounge/comfy looks. Are you all dressing up, or staying in your pajamas all day? And…yes, I am talking about you all that put on a dress shirt or blazer and have on your pajama bottoms so you can look dressed up on your zoom conference calls!!! Don’t worry though, I have rounded up a few of my favorite comfy looks that you can wear around the house, and take your zoom calls in.
