How to be BOLD during Pregnancy

View Post jump arrow down

If you were to see me at home after work or even on my off days, I’m usually in a vintage tee and some sort of pajama bottoms that don’t match. This girl is on straight chill mode, with hair flying all over my head, no makeup, and barefoot. Pregnant or not, I like to be comfortable. At the same time we have certain low points, and just need to feel good about ourselves. We are growing a human being and already feel huge and like we just aren’t our best selves at times. When I was pregnant with Ashton, I wanted to change that mentality and have carried that with me throughout all of my pregnancies. Why is it that we get in a slump, and walk around looking frumpy? Its not because we aren’t capable, its just because we have been told that maternity isn’t when we are our best selves. Well to hell with that ladies, bump and all we should always be bold and confident. We look just as good as the slim little model in the magazines, and in my opinion better because we are carrying a LIFE!

I was hesitant to buy this leopard dress at first because it was a bit bold, but I wanted to make a statement. We can wear prints and patterns with our bumps. Its all about how you style  it. I paired this super cute animal print dress  with a blazer vest to hide my but and backside. I think it tones down that double bump look which may be a little much when wearing a bold print. You have probably seen me wear this exact blazer vest here, but it has been a life saver during pregnancy. This dress is non maternity and is under $40 which is perfect, so you aren’t splurging. I went up a size and it fit perfectly around my bump. I will be able to transition this look into my non maternity wardrobe after pregnancy, which makes me feel better that I didn’t waste any money.

So here are a few of my tips on how to be bold and confident during pregnancy:

  1. Try out a bold printed dress or top and tone it down with a blazer
  2. Throw on a pair of heels, even if its just to walk into your destination! Start your day right, and you can always ditch the heels when your feet start hurting.
  3. Bold Lip color: I never really wear lipstick, but when I want to add a pop of color I usually go for a nice RED which always adds a little character and drama to my outfit.
  4. You have to be confident in what you wear and walk with confidence. Often times we are our worst critic, so wake up and change that negative attitude.
  5. Don’t you always feel better about yourself when you comb your hair?! I decided to curl my  hair this one day and stop being lazy. Yes, I had to wake up a little earlier, but I felt way more confident about myself and what I was wearing because I had took the time to curl my hair. Isnt it silly how the little things can change your whole perception and day?!

I hope some of these tips that I live by will help you feel good about yourself! At the end of the day just be you!!! You are pregnant, stop being so hard on yourself.

Oh, and before I go, so many of you have asked about my mini bag that I have been carrying with every outfit (DONT JUDGE ME). Well, its still in stock here, and its under $50!!!

Hope you all have a great Weekend…. Come back to the blog next week for my Maternity Q&A post!
