Hairitage with Pantene

View Post jump arrow down

This post is sponsored by Pantene, however all thoughts and opinions are mine.

I always talk about self-care, and the lack thereof, in our daily lives. It’s hard at times to just find the time, and I know for sure my mother in law doesn’t practice self-care either. Taking care of my hair is one of the times that I actually do practice self-care because it is a process. It usually will take me 2-3 hours to do my hair, and even when I wash my braids it’s about an hour process to dry and get them fully dry. I am excited to partner with Pantene to not only talk about who inspires my current hair style, and why I was excited to try the Pantene Nutrient Blends Collection.

I am constantly inspired by my mother-in-law because of her hair. She is seriously hair goals when it comes to dreads! Her long, luxurious locs make me want to loc my hair so badly. The ease of of it all, and how she just gets up and go is #goals. She started growing her dreads out in 2010 because she was tired of dying her hair, and perming her hair. She then decided to go natural and then was quickly over the afro because it was high maintenance. My mother-in-law did something many of us won’t do because of the fear and commitment, she loced her hair. She is one of the reasons why I have been rocking knotless braids for so long. They are easy to manage, and I love the wake up and go style.

Even though our hair may be in locs and braids, we still have to wash our hair in these styles, and I was excited to try out the Pantene Nutrient Blends Collection. With these styles it is important that we keep our hair moisturized, which is why I have been using Pantene Rose Water Shampoo and Conditioner. The shampoo hydrates my hair even while it’s braided up, and when I take my braids out I know my hair will still be soft like before. The Conditioner tames the frizz, which is perfect so that my hair won’t look frizzy when my braids have been in for a few weeks. The Rose Water Treatment is perfect for when I take my braids out in a few weeks to give my hair a deep conditioning. You can also use this with braids and rub down the braid to where your hair stops to hydrate your hair. The Pantene Nutrient Blends Collection contains Rose Water which is used in regions such as Morocco. They often blend treatments with Rose Water because it is not only hydrating but known for its soothing benefits as well.

In the black community, our Hairitage is so important. It feels good to finally be able to wear braids and dump the stereotypes that come along with protective hairstyles. Special love and shoutout to my mother- in-law who has shown me to embrace my braids. Her locs are beyond beautiful and she looks stunning! If you are wearing your hair in protective style or not… make sure to try out Pantene Nutrient Blends Collection available now at HEB.
