Be your Own Boss

I’ve recently realized how fast my life is changing before my eyes! Blessed beyond words, and its crazy how things you have prayed, dreamed, and pictured on your vision board slowly come to pass. I came home one day and Ahmad was sitting at our dining room table with a 5 page handout that he had typed up titled “Shay Mone Monthly Review”. He highlighted my accomplishments for the month, created a to do list for me, went over income and budget for the brand, and ended with a game plan for the following month. At that moment I realized I am becoming my “own boss”.

Many of you have emailed me or messaged me about how to start a blog, or how to even start doing something that can generate a residual income for you and your family. I always say the same thing, and nothing has changed when I answer that question. Find something that you love to do, and just do it. Don’t do it for the money, but do it because you enjoy doing it and the money will come later. I seriously feel like I started my blog 3 years ago and had no idea that it would turn into a business. When Ahmad bought me my first camera in 2012, I didn’t think I would be brining in an income, signing contracts, and setting up business meetings for my brand. I say that to say, invest in yourself. Whatever it is that you love to do, make time for it, invest, and live it out. Be consistent in everything you do, make opportunities for yourself, and don’t let rejections hinder you from moving forward.

I am still growing every day and learning, but one thing that has really helped me get to where I am is surrounding myself with people that have the same end goal that I have. Find a support system in the field that you want to get into, and help each other out. Remember there is always room for everyone to WIN, so don’t think just because someone is winning and you may not have the resources that they have that you cant WIN too. I am a true testimony to that!

Be your OWN BOSS

• WRITE down exactly what you want to do and post it in a place where you will see it each and everyday
• Pick a word for the rest of the year and PRAY for it. My word for 2018 has been prosperity!
• Even when you are tired, WORK towards being your own boss! Don’t stop!
• Every month do a monthly review to see where you are, and make a strategy for the following month. In other words, always have a PLAN.

Believe me if you Write, Pray, Work, and Plan you will be well on your way to being your own BOSS!
