24 Hours at Hotel Alessandra

View Post jump arrow down

This post is sponsored by Hotel Alessandra; however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Recently Hubby and I checked in at Hotel Alessandra here in Houston, and lets just say having a little staycation is good for the soul! We woke up early Sunday morning and drove downtown to be tourist in our own city. The hotel is super close to Discovery Green and different restaurants which was the perfect way to start our day. We couldn’t check in the hotel until 3pm, so roaming the city for new shoot locations was on the agenda. Fast Forward to our check in time, and it was a seamless experience. I told Ahmad I felt like that was the shortest check in to any hotel we have ever stayed at. The desk rep was super nice, and accommodating . She gave us a short run down about the hotel, gave us our keys, and we were on our way to check out our gorgeous room.

The décor details in the hotel room are amazing! I never thought I would be a major fan of a green couch, but this one won me over! The gold accents in the room made the room feel grand, and I wish I could have captured the folding mirror that they had between the shower and the bed. I may not be describing it right, but you will just have to check in and see what I am talking about. One of my favorite parts about Hotel Alessandra is the complimentary car service that takes you around downtown. Hubby and I were excited we didn’t have to drive anywhere and hoped in the car service to go grab a bite to eat.

Restaurants near by:

  • III Forks
  • Pappadeaux
  • McCormick & Schmick’ Seafood and Steak
  • Pappas Bros Steakhouse
  • Mia bella Trattoria
  • Andalucia
  • Xochi
  • The Pass

Since we were so close to the hotel, we decided to walk back after eating. The restaurant was literally 2 blocks away from the hotel, which was perfect. Our next stop was to head to the pool and soak up the sun with a few friends. Thank heavens they had umbrellas by the pool area, because it was so hot outside since its on the 4th floor rooftop.

I fell in love with the black and white bathroom, and the lighting is amazing. It was the perfect place to put on my makeup before heading out to shoot a few looks for the blog!

Bar Bardot & Lounge

They have the cutest bar/lounge on the 2nd floor with great happy hour specials. Once again the décor was breathtaking, and the velvet couches just made me want to call the movers in to deliver the couches to my house.

Lucienne Restaurant

When I say this is the cutest restaurant I ever did see, I seriously mean that. Tucked away in a corner next to the receptionist desk, this decked out turquoise restaurant is the place to be. It was so quiet, and no one there at all. If you are in the Houston area, I highly recommend going because it is a hidden gem. Make sure to go for brunch because they offer great dishes if you are an omelet lover.

Hubby and I love to plan small staycations just to get away from reality for a little bit. It was super funny because we had to drive all the way back home to get my breast pump that I had forgotten to pack. The good thing is we were in Houston, so it was not a long drive. It was like we escaped our staycation to go back to reality, then in a blink of an eye we were back in staycation mode. If you are in Houston, or plan on traveling to Houston anytime soon… make sure to stay at Hotel Alessandra. You will be able to enjoy the beautiful downtown lifestyle, have a drink at Bardot, and end the night in a plush bed! Sounds good to me… logging off to go plan my next staycation!
