AT Home this Summer with MacKenzie-Childs

View Post jump arrow down

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of being apart of MacKenzie-Childs takes Houston group where they hosted us for virtual events that were honestly the funnest virtual zoom events I have been to. I was so honored to be with fellow Houston influencers, and so thrilled that I got to add MacKenzie-Childs pieces to my home. If you follow along on social, you probably saw me doing a flower arrangement course, or painting! That was 2 of the fun activities that were apart of their virtual events series. They even had breakfast delivered to us each day, and that was just a little bonus! I think the highlight of events was being able to see inside one of their directors home and how she styled MacKenzie-Childs in her home! I was so inspired, and loved how she used pieces outside of what we would normally use them for. That gave me so much inspiration on how I could really have fun with the pieces and think outside the box! We also had the chance to paint and create a piece with our painting and they will send it to us. I can’t wait to receive it and show you all!!!

My home is more on the modern side, and I was so excited to incorporate more traditional pieces that are fun and unique to my home decor. You have probably seen there famous Courtly Check, or even know someone in your family that owns a piece in the Courtly Check. I have been wanting a teapot in the Courtly Check for so long, but then after browsing on the site I fell in love with everything in the pattern. My entire home is black and white, so this was right up my alley! If you are into more of modern home decor, I wanted to show you how you can incorporate these traditional pieces in your home and sprinkle them throughout every room, including your garden!

The Garden

What I love the most about MacKenzie-Childs is that all their pieces are versatile. I am using the Courtly Check Enamel Waste Bin as my bucket to collect flowers and greenery from our garden. It is perfect and can be used as a beautiful vessel to put your flowers in as well! After gathering all of my flowers and shrubs from the yard, it’s time to bring them in the house!

The Entryway

There is nothing better than finding the beauty in your front yard and garden, and I love to bring it all indoors! I am using my Courtly Check small pitcher as a vase. It is the perfect size for our entryway table. My husband and I have also fallen in love with their candles as well! I have the large Flower Market Candle that smells amazing! When we have guest they immediately ask where is our candle from, so I’m sure I will be gifting these for the holidays. Lastly, Ahmad and I are the worse when it comes to knowing where we placed our keys. We never keep up with them once we enter the house, but now we are using the Courtly Check enamel soap dish as our drop off spot for our keys! Clever, right! I can’t believe #dearahmad has been on board and actually placing his keys there as well! Such a simple fix, and a great way to add a little more pattern to our entryway.

The Powder Bath

I still can’t believe that we finally renovated our powder bath! The before was very basic and you know your typical cookie cutter powder room that are in all new builds. I wanted to keep it simple, but we added classic honeycomb tile on the floor, new vanity, and tiled the back wall to make it stand out! I accessorized with MacKenzie-Childs Courtly Check bath rug, waste basket, and my new favorite MC Glow hand soap/lotion set. If you are looking for the perfect touch to add to your guest bathroom or powder room, definitely add in the Golden Hour soap and lotion because it will have your guest asking you where you got it! Believe me you will see it in there homes after they saw it at yours first!

The Dining Room

The last stop of my home tour is a fun tablescape using my Courtly Check cookware, pitchers, and plates! As I mentioned earlier, one of the things I love about all of the MacKenzie-Childs pieces is that you can use them anyway you like! Yes its a pitcher, but it also can serve as the perfect vase. These are the flowers and greenery I pulled from the yard and garden – and they look amazing in the enamel creamers. Now let me tell you about the cookware. I have been using some of Mackenzie-Childs pots, pans, and casserole dishes for over two months now. I cant believe how amazing they are! My husband, who does most of the cooking, even was bragging to people on how he loves them. It’s one thing to be aesthetically pleasing but you add functionality to the mix, it changes the game for cookware!

I mixed the Courtly Check plates with dishes that I already owned to give the table something new and old! I added in flowers from our yard, and the Mackenzie-Childs bar soap as a little gift to give to our guests. I love to have some type of gift as part of the tablescape because it makes it more memorable, and it’s a good way to share with your family and friends things that you love and use.

I hope you feel inspired by this post, and can find a way to add a few Mackenzie-Childs pieces to your home. You can shop all of the pieces from this post below!
