A Family Approved Staycation | The Westin Stonebriar Dallas

View Post jump arrow down

I can’t believe the warm weather has finally arrived, and school is finally out! To celebrate summer and Ashton being 1 of 5 students in the school that got all A’s the entire school year, we decided to take the kids on a surprise road trip to Dallas. They had no idea where we were going, and were thrilled when we pulled up to the Westin Stonebriar. Our kids travel a lot, and it takes a lot to impress them so to see their faces light up as soon as we went through the round doors was a good sign!

The checkin process was seamless, and the staff was very welcoming. They let us know about all the amenities, and the new pool that just opened. If you follow along on IG, then you saw we had the pleasure of staying in the Presidential Suite (call hotel directly  972-668-8000 if interested in staying in the suite). Let me just say it was huge, and perfect for a large family. Ahmad and I stayed in the suite, and since my parents live in Dallas and wanted to see the kiddos, the room was large enough with the connecting room for them to spend the night as well. The PS has the best view in the hotel with the long balcony that overlooks the pool and golf course. It was also the perfect place to hang out and watch the sunset. While we were checking out the suite the kids immediately noticed the large blue slide at the pool. We immediately changed into our swimsuits and headed on down to enjoy the pool!

Our family had the best time at the pool! We literally had the drag the kids out of there because they wanted to stay forever. You can rent a cabana and watch tv, or hang out in the lounge chairs that they have at the pool. They also have a splash pad for the kids, and of course the slide! I’ll admit I went down the slide just as many times as the kids did! We ate an early dinner at the pool at Ranch Water, and the kids loved the hot dogs! Ahmad got the Bison burger and wanted another one because it was so good. Ask them for the virgin piña coladas for the whole family to enjoy, and then head over to the games on the green (put put and more…)

After the pool we stopped at Beans & Barrel for snacks! Its the perfect spot to grab ice cream, a drink, or even pop some popcorn in the microwave.

The next morning we had breakfast at Herd & Hearth and everything was delicious. I recommend trying the brisket hashbrown, it was amazing! I would share it as its a lot! The kids ate the pancakes and bacon and was nice enough to let me share with them (they are serious about their pancakes!).

Usually when you go to hotels, parents and the kids tablets are the entertainment for the kids, but I was glad that The Westin Stonebriar has a Topgolf Swing Suite. We rented it for a little over an hour, and was able to play all the games they had available. Think of going bowling, but you are able to play golf, soccer, carnival games and more. We ate dinner there as well, and they have a server that assists you while you are playing. You get the entire suite to yourselves which made me feel super comfortable since its covid times. Pro tip: Book your reservation on Open Table after you book your hotel stay, as it books fast!

The resort is a little over a mile away from a shopping center, where we went shopping during the day – so convenient.

If you are looking for a quick road trip, or somewhere to spend a few days with the family this summer, I highly recommend you booking a stay at The Westin Stonebriar. If you are looking for a wedding venue they have tons of banquet rooms, and a staff to help you set up the event of your dreams. They also have a courtyard that you can have your wedding at that was stunning with a view of the golf course. The hotel has golf carts that you can take over to the golf course across the street as well, and while hubby golfs you will be able to relax at the new spa they have opening up soon! I was able to take a peak through the glass, and it looks amazing!

I know many of you have already booked, and/or booking soon, so I can’t wait to see all the memories you all make with your families at The Westin Stonebriar. Let me know if you have any questions about the resort in the comments! Have a great summer, and safe travels!
