3 Tips on How to Shop Last Minute for a Trip

I can’t believe the time has come where I can start planning trips again! This go around, even though I knew we were going on the trip, I still waited until the last minute to shop. Why do I do this to myself, anxiety level on 100! Since I know many of you may be planning trips this year, I wanted to share 3 easy ways to shop last minute for any vacation.

1. Only shop sites with free shipping, and or overnight – 2/day shipping! This guarantees you will get your items in time. I will pay a little extra for shipping if I can get it within 2 days of me ordering. Another option is to order online and pick up in store. Most stores will have your items available of pickup within 24 hours. If you live close to a mall or shopping center this is a great option, and cuts out worrying about shipping!
2. Have items shipped to your destination. Ahmad thinks I am crazy when I do this, but I learned this trick from working in retail. If you are going on a trip longer than 5 days, I would suggest having the package shipped to your hotel or airbnb. This way you still get to wear what you ordered, and you don’t have random packages sitting outside your door while you are gone. This is even a good practice to use if the retailer ships internationally. I remember during fashion week one year, a brand shipped my stuff to the hotel which was so convenient.
3. Utilize stylist programs. Most stores now offer FREE stylist that can help you select items. If you give them your destination and style, they can work with you on making sure you have everything you need for your trip, and of course have it on time. This is great for those times where you just don’t have time to search online and scroll through the millions of pages to find what you are searching for.
