I feel like I have had this plan drawn out for the girls bathroom for months, and we are finally nearing completion. If you have been following along on our YouTube channel, then you know this bathroom was outdated with carpet, super narrow, and lacked charm and character. The layout wasn’t ideal, and it randomly opens up into a huge space which I think was previously used as a storage room.
We have gutted the entire bathroom, updated the pipes, added additional square footage (by stealing Aubri’s closet space), put in a secret door to camo the large room behind it, added arches for character, tore out the old carpet and replaced with tile (which looks just like white oak wood floors), and went with custom cabinetry. A lot of major updates have happened, but we still have a lot to go.
I went back and forth on paint colors for the bathroom because finding the perfect creamy white is so hard. I have my favorites but wanted to test out a few more due to the lighting in the bathroom, and the fact that there is no natural light plays a huge role when trying to find a paint color. If the bathroom was a powder bath I don’t think it would matter as much, but because we are working with a narrow space, green tile, light floors, and warm lighting, I want to make sure we get the right shade. Below is a list of my favorite creamy white paint colors (in no particular order):
- Ivory Lace / Sherwin Williams
- Swiss Coffee / Benjamin Moore
- Farrow’s White / Farrow and Ball
- Aged White / Sherwin Williams
- White Sand / Sherwin Williams
- Calm / Benjamin Moore
Once the bathroom is complete, I will share a full list of paint colors, tile, and all materials and decor we used in the bathroom. Until then, hang tight as we are wrapping up and I can’t wait to share more!
