HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE!!!
I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THE NEW YEAR, AND MEETING ASHTON! EVERYONE STAY TRUE TO YOUR NEW YEAR GOALS, AND STAY FOCUSED. THIS IS YOUR YEAR!!!!!!
I have 4 weeks to go, and I am getting so anxious. Besides being nervous about becoming a mommy, I am also gaining so much weight. Its so funny to me! Ashton has no idea how excited his parents are to welcome him. His room is almost done (taking me forever because I don’t like the original wallpaper I put up, so I’m trying to find the perfect one).
Lately, I have only been able to wear dresses and leggings. All of my shirts are to short because my belly raises them up, and I am still refusing to buy maternity clothes. I have made it this far, I think I can make it!
As time is ticking, I realized that I need to start prepping myself for my hospital stay. I absolutely hate hospitals! There is nothing fun about them, and the smell really makes me sick. I may sound like a brat right now, but me being in the hospital for more than a day is really freaking me out. To make my stay as pleasant as possible I have decided to pack up a few of my favorite things to make my stay seem a little more comfortable. I advise every pregnant – mommy to be to think about the things that make them the most comfortable at home, and try to bring those things to the hospital.
So the question is what to pack? I tend to always over pack, but after talking to nurses at the hospital where Ashton is being born, and talking to other mommies, I have decided to narrow my list down to these basic essentials.
1. Tory Burch Nylon Duffle Bag | Overnight Bag
2. Slippers & Socks | to walk around the hospital in.
3. Tory Burch Cosmetic Case | all of your lip gloss and makeup to spruce up in case you have guest to visit after the baby is born.
4. Pillow | Your favorite pillow that you sleep on every night. When I was in the hospital on bed rest, the pillows were a little flat.
5. Face Cream
6. Towels | Unless you want to use the hospital towels that are very thin. One face towel, and Large towel.
7. Ipad & Headphones | You don’t know how long you may be in labor, so some type of entertainment is always good!
8. Gown/ Pajamas & Robe
10. Camera | Must capture these special moments!
11. Nursing Bras
12. Maxi Pads | Hospital gives you the big, chunky ones 🙁
Lastly, don’t forget the important things to put in your wallet. Its just like packing for a trip, and you can’t forget your Passport and boarding pass.
1. Insurance Card
2. Hospital Registration
3. Your Doctors Emergency Number | Just in case you have your baby early, and your doctor needs to meet you at the hospital!
4. ID / Drivers Lic.
Now that I am all squared away with my bag, now its on to Ashton’s diaper bag! Hubby bought me the cutest Tory Burch bag. I will share in another post exactly what to pack for your new baby!!! Hope this helps!

I am super excited to share our first look that we did for our maternity shoot. Every time I want to capture the perfect moment, I send Kristen a dramatic text about how I need her, and my vision for the pictures. She probably thinks that I am crazy, but I just love her work. Ahmad and I wanted to go back to the original place that we took our engagement pictures, and capture a few pictures in re-living our engagement shoot. Its like our comfort zone being in the same place. The weather was perfect, and whatever Kristen does behind that camera, just makes it magical. I am so happy with how they turned out, and will share our second look with you all soon.
Dress | Super old dress that I actually wore as a Halloween costume about 4 years ago. It came in handy when I decided I wanted to wear blue!
I am really feeling ORANGE/RED (dress could pass for either color to me) for fall! Why not wear a bright pop of color this season, and tone it down with neutral brown tones. I still haven’t bought any maternity wear, and am just going up a size or two in my clothes. I figured that If I get pregnant again I can wear them again, and if not I can pass all the clothes down to my friends. Buying maternity clothes just makes me feel like I’m wasting money. They are soooooo expensive, and not as cute (to me). Now I know there are maternity stores out there that are now selling hip, mom clothes, but I think I’m just in denial.
I had been wanting to carry Ahmad’s grandfathers luggage case forever, and has been in my husbands office as decor since we moved in our house. I stole it out of his office, and paired it with my outfit and shoes. To me it made the perfect match. I love old, vintage pieces. His grandfather use to travel with this brown, leather luggage. I remember my mother in law was trying to sale the collection EBAY, and I almost had a heartache. I told her that I needed that for decoration in my house. I was looking a different decor sites and saw how they were selling similar (faux leather) luggage sets for decor for over $450. I think that I got a good deal! What do you think?
I recently had a work meeting in Dallas, and couldn’t find anything casual and fun to wear to the meeting. I decided to wear denim on denim, in which many hate this style, but I love it. Since I’m pregnant, finding an over size denim shirt was hard to find. Most ladies denim shirts are slim fit, and more form fitting. I found the perfect one at Express (since their sizes tend to run big).
I have also been on a hunt as you all know for several pair of black booties. These are one of the pairs that I picked up at Zara. They are very comfortable, and easy to walk in. I will admit they are hard to take off, and my husband had to help me pull them off. The ones I really wanted, they didn’t have my size, so I convinced my best friend, Trenace, to buy them since they had her size.
I will be wearing this outfit again with different accessories and jackets, to change up the look as the weather continues to get cooler.
There is nothing better than a flowy, pleated dress. I decided to post this dress for my TBT because I am wearing a long maxi pleated dress for my maternity pictures. I wore this dress to a graduation a while ago, and ended up spilling food on it and the grease stain still won’t come out! WHAT A BUMMER!!! But its ok, at least I got to capture a few pictures in the dress.
Happy Thursday Everyone!!!!!!
There is nothing like a good pair of denim pants that have a unique edge to them. I bought these Guess jeans a while ago, and so excited that I can still squeeze into them with a baby bump. The stretch and quality of Guess jeans are to die for! The triangle symbol on the pocket gives them the vintage edge of the original Guess denim. If you don’t own a pair, I advise you to go try a pair on, you will love them. Im excited about them because this brand of jeans are the only ones I can still fit into, without having to spend a ton of money on maternity jeans!
