I can honestly say that my first Mother’s Day was amazing! My hubby went to New Orleans for work and flew me down for the weekend to spend Mother’s Day weekend with him. I was first a little hesitant because I didn’t want to be away from Ashton for that long. This was my first time leaving him for 3 days straight, and I almost had a panic attack on the plane flying there without him. My first night away, I realized how much work it really takes to be a mom. This was one of the first nights I just got to sleep, and relax (even though I would rather have Ashton there sleeping with me). Thank heavens for FaceTime and great grandparents who have been dying for me to let them keep him without me being in the way.
The first full day in New Orleans, we decided to wake up early and reflect on our journey. Hubby took me to the same place we took pictures for the blog same time last year, and it was a sweet little moment for me. I got to see how much my blog has grown in the past year, and where I am now. We just walked around the city, and enjoyed the weather and each other. I think that its important, even when you have children, to still have some alone time with your spouse. Keep the romance alive, and just have fun with one another.
Since I knew I was going to be doing a lot of walking and touring different sites, I wanted to wear something comfortable. I decided to wear my denim jumpsuit paired with nude studded sandals. I thought I would have been hot, but the fabric was light, and I didn’t even sweat lol Only thing I wish I would have worn were my New Balances for all that walking Hubby had me doing. All in all, I had a great time, and ate some great food! I recommend Coop’s Place & Port of Call if you ever are in New Orleans!
