Morning Beauty Routine

View Post jump arrow down

When it comes to beauty products, I am the girl that sticks to the same routine for years and years. My sister ( playinginmakeup.net ) is more of the beauty guru and helps me with all my beauty tips. Recently, I received several questions about my skin and what I use on it daily. Its crazy because I really only clean my face on a daily with water and a towel. I am that girl that hates face soaps because they always break me out. I wanted to share what I use daily with you guys, and honestly my simple steps can be done by anyone.

I stick with mostly Bobbi Brown products because their makeup is meant to be natural. I am not here for the full face everyday, and to those of you who are, you go girl! I just cant find the time to get up early and make it happen. Secondly, I am not a big makeup girl. My sister had me write down step by step one day. I tried it one time, and omg it turned out so cute, but it was to much work for me. I am super lazy when it comes to makeup, so sad, but true.

Cleanser: Bobbi Brown Cleansing Oil is my absolute favorite. I like to use this before I put on any makeup just to cleanse all the dirt off of my face. The oil makes the skin feel smooth and is suitable for all skin types. I also use this to take my makeup off at the end of the day. I apply it and then rinse face with warm water.

Primer: I recently bought the Try it Kit Primer by Smashbox. I wanted to just try the primer, and went with the starter kit to be able to try additional products that they make. Lets just say my sister was right! I fell in love with it. I never use to use a primer before (don’t judge me) and thought it was just one extra step. The photo finish foundation primer blurs all of my flaws! If you use it consistently, you will notice how it minimizes pores and lines when you apply your foundation.

Foundation: I got my makeup done by a Bobbi Brown rep for my wedding, and lets just say she got me hooked on the Bobbi Brown foundation stick. The whole point of the stick is to leave you looking natural! I get full coverage from the stick, and it lasts all day. I use the warm almond 6.5 in the winter months and the Almond 7 in the summer. They make the stick in 31 different shades, so definitely try it.

Concealer: I can not live without the Tinted Eye Brightener by Bobbi Brown. Sometimes I get off work late, then up late at night with the kids and the dark circles just appear under my eyes. Am I the only person that has that problem? So embarrassing because people look at you and automatically think you are tired. I tried the eye brightener a few years ago and now stick with it. I will apply another concealer on top sometimes if I am going out (date night) or taking photos.  This product is a lightweight concealer to instantly brighten under eye circles and refresh your look

Highlight: I use the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Highlighter in Bronze. It gives me a natural bronze glow which I love. Funny story: I bought this for my sister a few years back. One day I was like I like whatever product you are wearing. How do I get that glow? She looked at me like I was crazy and said, “Shay you bought me this”. I obviously just picked it up at the makeup counter because I thought it was pretty. I had no idea what I was buying. I told you guys I am no beauty guru, but at least I bought her something good!!

Mascara: Buxom is my new favorite mascara that I recently switched to. Don’t you hate when you mascara starts to clump up when applying. Ugh, so annoying. Then throughout the day your eyelashes feel so hard and clumpy! The Buxom mascara is volumizing and clump free!!!

Lip Gloss: I usually wear the Bobbi Brown lip gloss in the Almost pink shade. I always keep it simple when it comes to lip shades, well who am I fooling? I keep it simple when it comes to cosmetics in general!!

Setting Spray: This is once again another step my sister added to my routine recently. I actually love using the setting spray because it keeps my makeup on all day and even with this humid weather here in Houston.
