My mornings have changed dramatically once Aurbi arrived. I am thankful that my mom came to stay with me for a while to help me get accustomed to being a mom of two. Now Ahmad’s mom is here, and I couldn’t be more thankful to have the help and support.

5am | Morning Start

When I wake up in the morning I put on my Plum Pretty Sugar Penelope Edi robe because its comfy and easy to nurse and pump in. I love the flower pattern on the robe, and it matches Aurbi’s nursery which is fun. (I promise I will do a nursery reveal soon). The Penelope Edi robe also has pockets in which I place my lipgloss in, or Aubri’s pacifier while walking around the house. Its a good way to keep up with the little things in the morning.

If you are a mom and you are nursing, then you know the first thing you do when you wake up is pump. I use the Medela breast pump  which you can get free through your insurance. After pumping, Aubri is usually wide awake and ready to eat. After feeding and changing her diaper for the millionth time she finally falls back to sleep.

6am | Did someone say Bottle Service?

Since I am nursing, I make sure to pump milk and have bottles ready in case someone wants to feed her throughout the day. I highly recommend having a night schedule where you pump and bottle at least two bottles so that your husband can feed the baby in the middle of the night. This allows you to at least get a little sleep and rest during the night.

I boil all of her unclean bottles, and dry them on the grass rack. Around this time Ashton is up and moving around. Ahmad usually feeds Ashton and gets him ready for the day while I’m doing mommy duty with Aubri.

7am | Bonding Time

I love to go to Aubri room and just sit down and look at her. I know that sounds weird, but looking at her smile and her one dimple just melts my heart. Her room is so bright and happy which puts both of us in a good mood. I started reading to her different fashion books in which I probably am more obsessed with than her obviously. Its so different having a girl because now I can do all the girly things that I use to do.

While we are bonding, its time for her to eat once again (yes, she eats every two hours). I believe it when they say that nursing brings a bond between you and the baby. She always fall asleep while eating, and I end up having to feed her 10 minutes later when she wakes up because she isn’t full.

8am | What to Wear?

Believe it or not, I don’t dress her up yet. She has tons of really cute clothes, but she is only 3 weeks. Plain white, pink, or black onesies is all she wears. We literally sit at home all day, so little wrap around t-shirts are the best. I do like to put her on cute turban headbands to give her a pop of color for the day. By noon time they are thrown somewhere in the house because Ashton takes them off of her head. I will say I can’t wait to put her in all of her little cute outfits that she has. It’s like dressing a cute little baby doll, except I know she will spit up or have a blow out on the cutest outfit one day.

9am | Time to Relax

Around 9am this mommy is super exhausted. Aubri is back to sleep in my arms, and its time for me to kick up my feet and try to get a little rest while she is sleeping. From 5am to 9am I am all over the house trying to get ready for the day. Its crazy how fast the morning goes, and then I have to remember its time for me to put Aubri in her crib so that I can eat breakfast and get my day started before she wakes up again.

One of the major tips I would give any new mom is that you should sleep when the baby sleeps! Aubri usually will sleep from about 9am until 11am. This is my time to eat, shower, get dressed for the day (I know I unfortunately have to take off this cute Plum Pretty Sugar Robe), and then nap until she wakes up.

What are your mornings like with your little ones?
