With so much on our plate as women and moms as it is, adding one more child to the mix can be even more stressful. From planning the nursery, doctor visits, coming up with a name, and dealing with all of the pregnancy issues; a vacation is much needed. I even feel sorry for the husbands that have to deal with all of our hormonal issues, and they too want a vacation as well.
Relaxation is what I needed, and I decided why not skip the long flights and trying to figure out a destination I could go to without worrying about all the virus scares that are going on around the world. My solution was to pick a place that my husband and I haven’t seen together, and bring all of our friends along! It was my husbands birthday weekend, and what better way to celebrate away from home and with friends.
Ladies, take time away and vacate! Being a mom is a tough job and sometimes a little getaway is much needed. 2 to 3 days is always just the right amount of time for me because I start to miss Ashton. The hard part about vacationing with friends while you are pregnant is that you have to make sure you are the one that plan the trip. Make sure that you plan activities that you will enjoy as well. Take a little time in the morning (while everyone is still sleep and tired from partying the night before) and go sit out by the pool and enjoy the weather. Bring a book or journal along so that you can read or jot down some of your thoughts that may come to mind. My sister, Trenace, bought me the style journal where I wrote down tons of ideas about Aubri’s room as I set by pool.
Also, look up a signature virgin drink that can be your go to for the weekend as everyone else is pouring cocktails. Of course water is your go to drink since your pregnant, but have a little fun and have a shirley temple for the weekend with a cherry. This makes you feel more involved in the night out fun!
Download the uber app ahead of time, that way you are not pressured to be the designated driver the whole time. Often times people may think since you are the sober one that you can drive them around all weekend. They forget that you are pregnant and your feet swell or you just may have no energy to drive around an unfamiliar city.
Lastly, just remember to have fun!
